The Polish Geological Survey, performed by the Polish Geological Institute – National Research Institute, launched the website infolupki on hydrocarbons in particular shale gas and shale oil that is now available in Polish and English.

The key goal of the service is to disseminate knowledge on oil and gas from shale formations and on shale gas and oil exploration and production. The project is targeted at all those who do not possess expertise or have limited knowledge in that area but wish to learn more from a credible source which is independent and impartial in terms of business interests. We would also like to contribute to the ongoing debate on exploration for oil and gas in Europe.

The portal is prepared by leading experts from the Polish Geological Institute – National Research Institute whose daily routine has been for years to conduct scientific research in geology, hydrogeology, geophysics and environmental protection. Moreover, they have experience in dissemination of geological issues.

Editors are collaborating closely with several professional experts – lawyers, sociologists, economists and political science researchers – to cover areas beyond the scope of geology which are required to give a comprehensive image of all unconventional oil and gas aspects.
